Iran proud to have helped liberate Mosul: envoy

TEHRAN – Iran’s ambassador to Iraq has said the Islamic Republic is proud to have helped liberate the city of Mosul from Daesh.

Iraj Masjedi, in a meeting with some local Iraqi officials on Saturday, said the victory will establish firmer ground for friendship between Iran and Iraq, ISNA reported.

In the meantime, Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chief Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the United States is the biggest hurdle against complete liberation of the Iraqi city.
