Sara Bahrami crowned best actress at Porto7 festival
TEHRAN – Iranian actress Sara Bahrami was crowned best at the 10th Porto7 International Short Film Festival in Portugal on Sunday for her role in “You Just Be My Mother”.
Bahrami portrays Sara, a mother who lives with a man after separating from her husband but his son is against their relationship. Sara is forced to choose between her son and her love.
Directed by Roqieh Tavakkoli, the film has been screened at several international events, including the Delhi International Film Festival and the Athens International Digital Film Festival.
The Porto7 festival also picked Alexander Bobrov as best actor for his role in “The Secret to a Happy Marriage” by Russian director Andrey Bulatov.
The award for best film went to “#Selfie” by David M. Lorenz from Germany and “The Fourth Kingdom” by Adan Aliaga and Alex Lora from Spain was named best documentary.
“Mecanismo Diabólico” by Spanish director Fernando Escribano won the award for best animation.
“Refugee Camp” by Iranian director Saeid Naqavian was also screened in the official competition of the festival.
