Rouhani condemns terrorist blast in Afghanistan
TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani condemned on Thursday a huge terrorist blast in Afghanistan, saying that Tehran stands beside the Afghan government and nation.
Acts of terror during the fasting month of Ramadan indicate that terrorists and their sympathizers have nothing to do with Islam, he said in a message to President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani.
Iran will continue fighting terrorism and extremism to eradicate the phenomena, re-elected Rouhani pledged.
The Iranian president offered the Afghan government and people condolences.
A huge bomb blast in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Wednesday killed at least 90 people and injured 300 others.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack which hit Zanbaq Square, close to the German embassy.
According to reports, several embassies, including Iran’s diplomatic post, were damaged in the large explosion.
