Iran’s senior official heads to Russia for security meeting

TEHRAN – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani left Tehran for Moscow on Tuesday to participate in the International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues.
In addition to addressing the meeting, Shamkhani is scheduled to sit down with a number of security and military officials, including Russian ones.
Senior security officials from more than 70 countries are participating in the meeting.
Military and security cooperation between Tehran and Moscow have increased over the past years, particularly on the Syrian crisis.
