Iran’s Olympic silver medal winner Givehchi dies at 85

Nasser Givehchi, who claimed a silver medal at the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games, died at the age of 86 at his home in Tehran, Iran on Monday.

His death was attributed to old age.

Givehchi was an Iranian wrestler, who won the silver medal in the Featherweight division of freestyle wrestling in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.

He also competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics, where he managed to obtain sixth place in the 62 kg division.

 Givehchi ranked fifth at the 1954 World Wrestling Championships in Tokyo. In the 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo, Givehchi managed to win the bronze medal of the 62 kg division.
