TEHRAN – The Society of Qom Seminary Teachers has announced its endorsement of Ebrahim Raisi as a presidential candidate.

The society in a meeting on Friday held a voting on their favored candidates and Raisi was elected with majority, the society announced on Tuesday, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

According to the announcement, the meeting was held after numerous requests by individuals and organizations from the society to announce their favorite presidential nominee.
