Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani to open Tehran Intl. Book Fair tomorrow
TEHRAN -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani is scheduled to open the 30th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair at the Shahr-e Aftab (Sun City) Fairground tomorrow.
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi-Amiri and Deputy Culture Minister for Cultural Affairs Seyyed Abbas Salehi will accompany Larijani in the opening ceremony of the fair, which is Iran’s most important event in the publishing industry.
Italy is the special guest of the fair this year and the Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, Antimo Cesaro, is also expected to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.
A group of 32 Italian cultural figures and writers including novelists Michela Murgia, Alessandro Barbero, Michele Serra, Beatrice Masini and Gianni Biondillo are scheduled to attend the fair.
The Tehran International Book Fair will open to the public on Wednesday and will run until May 13.
