Raisi: President should be more vocal in anti-corruption fight

TEHRAN – The main principlist presidential candidate Ebrahim Raisi, who currently is the custodian of the Mashhad Holy Shrine, said on Wednesday that more than anyone else the president as the head of the government should push for fight against corruption.
“The grounds for corruption should be eliminated,” Raisi said, Fars reported.
He added, “I am not paid as much as 1 rial for being custodian [of the Mashhad Holy Shrine].”
“Our program is to save the country’s management and economy,” the candidate said, adding, “The country’s banking system can and should be revamped.”
