Kaveh Rezaei scored a priceless equalizer three minutes from time to salvage a point for Iran’s Esteghlal in the 2017 AFC Champions League on Tuesday.

A late goal by Kaveh Rezaei ensured Esteghlal of Iran took a point from their meeting in Tashkent with 2016 quarter-finalist Lokomotiv as the Uzbek side kept their hopes of a place in the next phase of this year’s AFC Champions League alive.

Marat Bikmaev scored for Lokomotiv after receiving a pass from Jaloliddin Masharipov in the 13th minute.

Esteghlal put Lokomotiv under pressure and Rezae was on target in the 87th minute.

Esteghlal move on to seven points from four matches and maintain a three-point gap over the club from Tashkent with two games remaining.
