Raeisi to run for president: representative

TEHRAN – Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, has declared his readiness to run for president, his representative said on Thursday.
“Raeisi has accepted the request to run as candidate and his plans will be announced soon,” said Seyyed Sowlat Mortazavi, who is also the mayor of Mashhad. He added that Raeisi had officially announced his candidacy after receiving several requests to this effect, Press TV reported.
