TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made his debut on the social media platform on Tuesday morning, after faring well in Tweeter and Facebook.   

“With God’s help, from today on, which is the first day of the year 1396 (March 21), I will start my personal page named @jzarif_ir,” Zarif wrote on his Instagram, posting a casual photo.

Since taking office, Zarif has been among pioneering Iranian ministers using social media.

He used Tweeter as a tool particularly to slap back at hostile comments by the Trump administration on the 2015 nuclear deal.
