TEHRAN – Iran’s Guardian Council has ruled out the possibility that the presidential election, slated for May 19, will be held electronically in all polling stations.

Citing security concerns, the council’s spokesman Abbasali Kadkhodaei said on Friday the presidential election will definitely not be held fully electronically, Nasim reported.

On Monday, an official announced that electronic ballot boxes will be used in 10,000 stations for the council elections, which will be held simultaneously with the presidential election.
