Leader offers condolences over death of poet Ahmad Azizi
TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has offered his condolences over the death of poet Ahmad Azizi.
In a message published on Tuesday, the Leader wrote “I offer my condolences over the death of the revolutionary and skillful poet Ahmad Azizi, who died following a long and painful hospitalization, to the literary community and artists of the country and especially to the lovely people of Kermanshah Province and his respectable family who were involved in the nine-year affliction.”
Azizi who mostly known for his works on the household of Prophet Muhammad (S) and religious themes, died on Monday nine years after falling into a coma following a stroke. He was 59.
In his travel to the western Iranian city of Kermanshah in October 2011, Ayatollah Khamenei paid a visit to Azizi at the Imam Reza Hospital.
