TEHRAN – The reformist policy making council will name a candidate for the May presidential election by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20), the council’s chief Mohammad Reza Aref announced on Monday.

“We have had serious talks about the (to-be) final candidate and we hope to announce the final candidate by the year’s end,” Aref said, ISNA reported.

Regarding the council elections, he said the reformists cannot introduce any candidates until mid-April.
