TEHRAN – Tehran’s newly-established gallery Daargoun dedicated its first show to an exhibition on trees to join Iranian people who are preparing to celebrate the arrival of spring.

Works by 50 artists, including Ahmad Vakili, Yaqub Ammamepich, Arjang Kamkar, Jamshid Haqiqatshenas, Taraneh Sadeqian, Behnam Kamrani and Ali Nedai, have been selected for the exhibit entitled “50 Artists, 50 Trees”.

In a press release published on Sunday, Daargoun Gallery owner Arash Reisian said that there are two reasons behind the choice of the theme for the debut exhibit of the gallery.

“First reason is the name the gallery that means ‘tree-like’ and the other reason is the coincidence between the exhibition and tree planting season,” he mentioned.

Reisian said that an exhibition on the same theme will be organized every year before the arrival of spring.

“In praise of the tree for its perfect kindness, the gallery plans to invite a number of artists and art enthusiasts to participate in a tree planting ceremony, which will be held during the closing day of the exhibition in Tello Park,” he added.

The exhibition will run until March 10 at the gallery located at 14 Bashardoost Dead End, Kusha St. off Shariati Ave.
