Minerals, mining exports expected to reach $5.5b
TEHRAN- The value of Iran’s annual minerals and mining industries exports is expected to reach $5.5 billion by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20), IRNA quoted Deputy Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Jafar Sarqini as saying on Saturday.
The official put the worth of minerals and mining industries exports from the country at $4.5 billion during the first ten months of this calendar year (March 20, 2016-January 19, 2017).
He also announced that the value of minerals exports from Iran during the mentioned ten-month period compared to the same period of time in the previous year rose 50 percent to stand at $900 million and is anticipated to hit $1.1 billion by the end of current year.
The annual amount of newly-found mineral reserves in Iran will reach 1.078 billion tons by the yearend, according to Asadollah Keshavarz, the director general of Mineral Discoveries Office in the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade.
