Non-oil trade up 1.8%, hits $77 billion

TEHRAN- The value of Iran’s non-oil trade with other countries during the first eleven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2016-February 18, 2017) stood at $76.907 billion, with 1.8 percent rise from the same period of time in the previous year, IRIB reported on Saturday citing Iran’s Customs Administration.

The country’s worth of non-oil trade was $75.536 billion during the first eleven months of the preceding year.

Also, Iran’s value of non-oil exports rose 0.21 percent during the mentioned time to stand at $38.492 billion.

The country’s imports of non-oil goods during the first eleven months of this year stood at $38.415 billion, showing 3.47 percent growth from the same time span in the previous year.

Gas condensate was the top commodity in the country’s non-oil export list with an export value of $6.571 billion, accounting for 17.07 percent of the total 11-month non-oil exports value.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) came in second followed by low-density oils, associated petroleum gas (APG) and hydrocarbon gas liquids and finally liquefied propane.

China, UAE, Iraq, Turkey and South Korea were the main importers of goods from Iran during the mentioned period.

Corn, soybeans, CKD parts for passenger cars, and motor vehicles were among the most imported commodities and China, UAE, South Korea, Turkey and Germany were the major exporters of products to the Islamic Republic during the eleven-month time span.
