TEHRAN – The secretary general of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) has praised Ayatollahs Ruhollah Khomeini, Ali Khamenei, and Ali al-Sistani for their fatwas in efforts to unite Shias and Sunnis.

According to the YJC, Amjad Chashti on Sunday said that the grand ayatollahs’ fatwas “made 90 percent of Shia-Sunni disagreements disappear.”

Elsewhere in his statements, he blasted short-sighted views that help the growth of Takfiri and Wahhabi ideologies. He also praised the Islamic Republic for bringing out the benevolent aspects of Islam.
