Belarus, Iran share common concern on terrorism: Larijani

TEHRAN – Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that Iran and Belarus share common concerns about terrorism.

During a joint press conference with Chairman of the Council of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich in Tehran, Larijani said regional cooperation is required in counter terrorism.

Larijani also said that Iran and Belarus enjoy friendly ties.

He added that the two countries will expand parliamentary relations.

Myasnikovich said that “trust” is the main characteristic of Tehran-Minsk cooperation.

He also said that the atmosphere that has been created after the removal of sanctions against Iran has provided a good opportunity to expand relations.

He said that cooperation between Iran and Belarus will be expanded at international level.

The Belarusian official arrived in Tehran on Monday at the invitation of the Iranian parliament speaker.

Larijani and Myasnikovich signed a memorandum of understanding on parliamentary cooperation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met separately with Myasnikovich on Monday.
