Rafsanjani reassures investors that Iran is not adventurous
TEHRAN – Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Council, said on Sunday that Iran is not an “adventurous country” and would not pose risks to foreign investors, ISNA reported.
Addressing the 2nd Iran Mines and Mining Industries Summit held at IRIB conference hall in Tehran, Rafsanjani encouraged investors to expand the country's mining industry.
He reassured foreign investors that they would have "full financial security" in Iran.
Investors can have access to Iran’s ports, seas, and different roads and would benefit from cheap, skilled labor, Rafsanjani, a pragmatic politician, explained.
He pointed out that the restrictions imposed on foreign investors have been lifted.
Rafsanjani also called for reviewing overall policies and regulations of exploitation of the mineral resources in Iran.
Through reviewing such policies, the conditions will be prepared for Iran's further development, he said.
The senior official described Iran as being among the top three mineral-rich countries, saying that the country is home to a collection of various mineral resources.
Highlighting the Islamic Republic’s unique security and vast energy resources, Rafsanjani said Iran maintains great potential to further exploit its mineral resources.
“Many of our mines are not discovered yet or they are not fully developed and exploited,” he said, emphasizing that exploitation of the country’s mines is a priority.
