Zarif: Cooperation essential to counter terrorism

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that it is essential to cooperate in countering terrorism, violence, and extremism.

During a meeting with Zimbabwean Deputy Foreign Minister Joey Bimha in Tehran, Zarif praised Zimbabwe’s stance against colonialism.

He also said that Iran is ready to share its knowledge and experiences in spheres of energy and new technologies with Zimbabwe.

The foreign minister expressed hope that the two countries would expand relations through tapping their capacities.

For his part, Bimha said Zimbabwe attaches great importance to cooperation with Iran.

He also suggested formation of a joint committee to foster cooperation.
