German bank to discuss investment in Iran’s mining sector

TEHRAN- Mehdi Karbasian, the head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), told ILNA on Saturday that a delegation from the German private bank of BHF will arrive in Tehran on Sunday.

TEHRAN- Mehdi Karbasian, the head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), told ILNA on Saturday that a delegation from the German private bank of BHF will arrive in Tehran on Sunday.

The German bankers are to negotiate monetary, financial ties as well as making direct investments in Iran’s mining sector with IMIDRO, he said.

Referring to the visit made by a Hong Kongese delegation, led by Financial Secretary of Hong Kong John Tsang Chun-wah, to Iran a few day ago, Karbasian added that the Hong Kongese have also expressed tendency towards making investments in Iran’s mining sector. 

BHF-Bank is a private German bank owned by Oddo & Cie. It was one of the leading German investment banks in the 1970s and 1980s and held a top position in the foreign exchange market. The bank has an international presence, with branches in Luxembourg, Switzerland, the UAE, Egypt and Vietnam.
