GECF holds statistics, data exchange workshop in Doha

TEHRAN - The 7th GECF data exchange mechanism and data exchange center system workshop, and data analysis and statistics meeting kicked off in Doha, Qatar on Monday, Shana reported.

During the 2-day meeting the members of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) will discuss the statistical data related to gas industry and analyze them.

GECF member states account for 42 percent of world gas production, 67 percent of world gas reserves, 38 percent of gas transmission pipelines and 85 percent of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade.

Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates are the 12 members of this assembly and the Netherlands, Norway, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Oman, Peru participate as observers in the forum.

The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is an international governmental organization which provides the framework for exchanging experience and information among member countries.
