Iran, Czech Republic stress expansion of power, water co-op
TEHRAN- In the first meeting of Iran-Czech Republic Energy Taskforce, held in Prague on Thursday, the two sides emphasized expansion of cooperation in electricity and water sectors, IRNA reported.
In the meeting, chaired by Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Houshang Falahatian and Czech Deputy Industry and Trade Minister, cooperation in different water and electricity areas including construction and renovation of power plants and development of renewable energies, in addition to water and wastewater management in urban areas was agreed.
During its stay in the Czech Republic, the Iranian delegation also met with Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek, who announced his country’s willingness to cooperate with Iran especially in energy sector.
He also voiced his ministry’s support for the Czech companies to cooperate with Iranian counterparts.
Falahatian, for his part, referred to Iran’s plan for adding 5,000 megawatts of electricity to its national grid each year and expressed hope that the Czech companies will seize the opportunity to contribute in this due.
