TEHRAN – The director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has said he does not plan to run for the post of president.

“I consider it impudent of me to appear on the court to compete the president. I believe I know my limits,” Ali Akbar Salehi said in a message on Tuesday, ISNA reported.

Salehi said he chose to publish his message following media speculation that he intends to contest the next year’s presidential election.
