Iran says to prevent illegal trips to Iraq on Arba’een

TEHRAN – The deputy foreign minister for consular affairs said on Saturday that Iranians are required to obtain visa to partake in the November 20 Arba’een rituals in Karbala, Iraq.

Hassan Qashqavi said Iran believed visa was not necessary for the Arba’een rituals but the Iraqi side did not agree, ILNA reported.

Arba’een Headquarters Commander Hossein Zolfaqari also said on Saturday that Tehran’s attempts to waive visa for Arba’een have failed.
