TEHRAN – The 6th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival in Istanbul, Turkey presented its Cinema Honorary Award to prominent Iranian filmmaker Rakhshan Bani-Etemad during the opening ceremony of the event on Thursday.

Bani-Etemad’s 2000 drama “Under the Skin of the City” will also go on screen at the festival, which will run until October 6.

In addition, Iranian director Bahman Kamyar’s “The Half” will be screened in the non-competitive section of the festival.

The festival, which generally focuses on films about justice, has put its spotlight on poverty this year.
