Russian president’s envoy, Iranian deputy FM confer in Tehran

Tehran– Visiting Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held talks with Foreign Minister Deputy for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari here on Monday.

The two sides also exchanged views on current regional developments, the ways for fostering convergence aimed at tackling terrorism as well as settling Syria crisis.

Bogdanov, who also serves as Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy to the Middle East, arrived in Tehran on Sunday night to consult with Iranian officials.

While in Iran, the senior Russian official is scheduled to hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Bogdanov’s visit to Iran comes less than a week after President Hassan Rouhani and President Putin held talks in the Azeri capital city of Baku.
