Iranian wrestler Hamid Sourian has set his eyes on a second Olympic gold medal.

The 30-year-old, who clinched the gold medal in the men’s 55-kilogram Greco-Roman competitions at the London 2012 Summer Olympics, revealed that winning the second Olympic gold is his biggest wish before putting an end to his glamorous career.
“In the last 10 month I’ve been under real pressure doing very tough trainings in order to reach my top form at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Winning the second Olympic gold is my biggest dream and I’ve done anything to get it,” Sourian said.
Sourian, who is also a six-time world champion, impressed the audience at the 2nd Olympic Games (OG) World Qualifying Tournament in Turkey’s largest city of Istanbul on May 6, and won a ticket for the Rio Olympics.
“I believe competing at the Olympics is an honor for every sportsman and I’m glad I’ve already earned it. This is going to be my last Olympic and according to what I’ve done so far at the trainings I believe this tournament has something for me,” he added.
“I hope to win 2016 Rio Olympics gold medal with the support of the Iranian fans,” Sourian, who will turn 31 just days after Rio Olympics, said.
Wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is scheduled to take place from 14 to 21 August at Hall 3 of the Olympic Training Center in Barra da Tijuca.
