Kayhan Kalhor to join Silk Road on tour of U.S.

TEHRAN – Accomplished Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor along with the multinational ensemble Silk Road will give concerts across the U.S. from August 7 to 27. 

French-born Chinese-American top cellist Yo-Yo Ma will accompany the group during the summer tour, which starts at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA and will come to end at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. 

Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, the Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville, Delaware and Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia are among the other destinations for the ensemble. 

The Silk Road Ensemble was formed in 2000 with the help of Yo-Yo Ma as a way of bringing together innovative performers and composers representing traditions from around the world.
