Iran attending Codex Alimentarius Commission

TEHRAN- The 39th meeting of United Nations food standards body Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC39), participated by the Islamic Republic of Iran, is underway in Rome from June 27 to July 1 to examine food safety and quality standards.
Charged with protecting consumer health and ensuring fair practices in the food trade, the Codex Alimentarius is a joint initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). It is a collection of internationally recognized standards, codes of practice, guidelines, and other recommendations relating to foods, food production, and food safety.
