Rouhani praises Judiciary for maintaining security
TEHRAN – President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the efforts being made by the Judiciary to maintain security in the country is praiseworthy.
“Security will not be maintained in any country unless the people are under the shelter of an impartial and efficient judiciary,” Rouhani told a gathering held to commemorate the Judiciary week.
He also called on the judicial and executive bodies to expand cooperation in line with boosting the economy.
The president said the Iranian and foreign investors do economic activities in the country by trusting the Judiciary, he said.
The more the people trust in the judicial system, the more security will be established in the society, he stated.
The president also said the people are waiting to see how the judiciary will deal with those who illegally “ordered” and “carried out” attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
Elsewhere, he said that the government has sought to improve the economic situation by holding nuclear negotiations which its result was the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, adding that support of the judicial and the executive bodies are required to help his administration to flourish the economy.
Iran and the 5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - finalized the text of the JCPOA in Vienna in July 2015. The nuclear agreement went into effect in January 2016.
Crises in Middle East will not be settled in short time: Larijani
Speaking at the same ceremony, Ali Larijani, the head of the legislature, said crises in the Middle East region will not be settled in a short time.
Larijani also said the terrorist movements cannot be defeated through the “current mechanisms”.
He also said that the Judicial and the security bodies should pay attention to the fact that the terrorist groups are seeking to undermine Iran’s security.
Larijani also said that the Judiciary is following a “positive” path and is resisting against the pressures.
Such an approach will lead to a strengthening of national power, the scholar-turned politician pointed out.
Elsewhere, he said that the U.S. has been seeks to prevent the rise of Iran as a powerful nation while it has been supporting the Saudis.
The parliament speaker also said the U.S. is not taking any action to alleviate the tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Judiciary chief says Iran and the West have different views on human rights
Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani also told the forum that Iran and the Western countries have different standards in regard to human rights, saying Iran’s basis for upholding human rights is Islam.
Elsewhere, he said that some have turned into “opposition” groups and “disappoint” the people.
“There are some shortcomings, but some make the people disappointed,” the top judge remarked.
