TEHRAN – The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance selected Ali-Akbar Safipur as the new managing director of the Rudaki Foundation on Tuesday.

He replaced Bahram Jamali who held the post at the foundation over the past two years. 

Safipur was officially inaugurated during a special ceremony on morning Wednesday.  

The foundation is tasked with supervising the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and Iran’s National Orchestra as well as arranging the performance scheduled of the orchestras both in the country and overseas.  

The culture minister selects a new director for the Rudaki Foundation every two years.
