Iran condemns terrorist blast in Lebanon
TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari condemned on Tuesday the recent terrorist blast in Beirut, emphasizing the act was targeted at undermining stability in Lebanon.
He called on leaders of Lebanese political and religious groups to foil plots of terrorist movements which aim at undermining security in Lebanon.
He urged the Lebanese political and religious leaders to make efforts to boost the country’s security vigilantly and foil terrorists and their clandestine supporters’ schemes.
Jaberi Ansari highlighted that Tehran supports stability and security in the country.
Aljazeera reported on Monday that a bomb blast occurred in Beirut outside the headquarters of the Lebanese Blom Bank, inflicting heavy material damage but no deaths.
The blast occurred on Sunday and wounded one person.
A security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the blast was caused by a two-kilogram bomb placed in a bag by the back wall of the bank office, Press TV reported.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack; however, Lebanese Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk said the attack had nothing to do with Takfiri Daesh terrorists.
