TEHRAN – President of Iran’s Academy of Medical Sciences decried the UN for the loss of moral legitimacy after its surprising move to drop a Saudi-led military coalition against Yemen from a children’s rights blacklist and its silence on the starving children of Yemen under Saudi threats.

In a letter to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Dr Seyed Alireza Marandi leveled harsh criticism at the global body for its muted response to the Saudi-led military coalition’s atrocities against Yemeni people and children, Nasim reported on Tuesday.

He also lamented that the UN removed the Saudi-led military campaign from the children’s rights blacklist after being intimidated by the Riyadh regime.
