TEHRAN – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs said on Monday that Iran will “honorably and resolutely” continue to play its advisory role in Iraq and Syria which are in serious war against terrorists.

“Honorably and resolutely, Iran will continue with offering its advisory helps in the region to counter terrorism, deeming it vital for the security and stability of the region and world,” Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated.

The remarks come as an implicit reaction to the U.S. weird concerns over Iran’s growingly important role in Iraq and the assault to retake Fallujah.  
   
According to New York Times, unlike the Syrian battlefield where American commandos are on the front lines in a new push toward the Islamic State’s de facto capital in Raqqa, it is Iran, not the United States, that has become the face of an operation to retake the jihadist stronghold of Falluja from the militant group.

Amir-Abdollahian further stated “had it not been for Tehran’s helps and effective counterterrorism measures taken by Iraqi and Syrian armies and public mobilizations, there would have been no safe spot in Western Asia.”

Over the past the days, Iraqi regular and public forces have launched a major assault on Fallujah to re-capture ISIS’s stronghold near the Iraqi capital.
 
The success of the Fallujah offensive will be a major blow to territories ruled by ISIS, dealing the coup de grace to the group’s caliphate by paving the way for an assault on Mosul.

Being used as a redoubt in the proximity of Baghdad, Fallujah was the first Iraqi city in 2014 which fell into the hands of ISIS.

While in recent days, some foreign players and their regional allies have pointed an accusing finger at Tehran for its advisory helps, Tehran has announced the helps are offered at formal requests of Syria and Iraq.
