TEHRAN – The war games conducted by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and other Iranian armed forces will bring the enemies to their senses so that they will not make miscalculations in dealing with the Islamic Republic, an IRGC general has said.

“If the enemies assume that the Islamic Republic of Iran is weak and is not able to defend itself, they will make miscalculations, and this mistake may spark a war,” Brigadier General Yadollah Javani said on Sunday in response to remarks made by a number of U.S., Israeli, and European officials about the missile exercises staged by the IRGC from July 2 to 4, in which dozens of domestically manufactured missiles were fired at mock enemy targets.

“The war games held by the IRGC and other Iranian armed forces convey the message that the Islamic Republic is able to defend itself,” he said, adding, “The country’s armed forces are at the height of preparedness.”

He also said, “These exercises tell the enemies to come to their senses so that they do not make miscalculations, because if they (make a mistake), the Islamic Republic will easily be able to target their interests and destroy everything they regard as vital.”

In addition, Javani said that the IRGC’s missile exercises illustrated that the Islamic Republic is capable of destroying enemy targets within a considerable radius in the shortest time possible.
