Kalhor to perform in London

TEHRAN -- Acclaimed Iranian kamanech virtuoso Keyhan Kalhor will give performances at the BT River of Music in London.
 
He will perform on July 21 in the Asia Stage Section of the event, which is part of the London 2012 Festival, a prelude to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
 
Artists representing all Olympic and Paralympic nations will perform at this festival.
 
In addition, renowned musicians will attend the BT River of Music, which will be held at six iconic sites along the length of the River Thames. 
 
The Asia Stage Section of the event will be held in the Battersea Park in London.
 
Tabla player Zakir Hussain (India), qawwali player Asif Ali Khan on (Pakistan) and oud player Khyam Allami (Iraq) are other renowned Asian musicians who will attend the event.
 
Three-time Grammy Award nominee Kalhor has contributed to popularizing Persian music around the world through his extensive musical collaboration with foreign musicians.
