Iran, UAE to promote economic and trade relations

ABU DHABI: The Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs stressed that the UAE always seeks to promote economic and trade relations with Iran.
Sheikh Mansour made the remarks as he received Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Shams Al-Deen Husseini who is on a current visit to the UAE.
At the meeting which discussed ways to promote relations between the UAE and Iran, Husseini conveyed to Sheikh Mansour greetings and best wishes from the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He hailed the UAE-Iran historical relations which he said are founded on mutual respect, cooperation and good-neighbor principles.
In attendance at the meeting were Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al-Mansouri, Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Juma' Al-Za'abi, Governor of the UAE Central Bank Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidi, Secretary General of the Federal Supreme Council Affairs, Undersecretary for Government Coordination at the Presidential Affairs Ministry Rashid Al-Ameri and Iranian Ambassador to the UAE Mohammed Reza Fayyad.
