Threats against Iran are idle: Basij chief

altTEHRAN – Basij Commander Mohammad Reza Naqdi said on Monday threats issued by the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) against the Islamic Republic are empty and the country is fully prepared to counter any threat without the slightest fear.

“The message of the Iranian nation to the global arrogance is that they have no fear of any threats and are thoroughly prepared to counter them,” Naqdi said during a speech to 60 thousand Basijis in Malek Ashtar garrison in Urmia after their military exercise.

“We are always ready to obey the orders of Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces (the Supreme Leader) in order to stand in the way of the enemies’ evil plots,” he explained.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Naqdi described the awakening movement of Muslim nations as the fruit of Basij’s resistance against the global arrogance and said the United States is now experiencing political humiliation, while Basijis, who have resisted for the sake of God, are at the height of their powers.

The Basij commander went on to say that strength and resistance of Basij have been very important in humiliation of enemies.

He also said the United States’ sanctions, threats, and plots against Iran have their roots in Washington’s weakness, adding that the global arrogance is fearful that the message of Iranian nation will be heard by the international community.

He also said, “Today, if we do not launch any armed operations to liberate Palestine, it does not mean that we are incapable of doing such a thing. Iranian Basijis are impatiently waiting the moment to arrive when they are allowed to move toward the holy Qods and prove their power.

“Our youth are keen to compete with the youth of other Muslim countries to reach the holy Qods and plant the flag of Islam on it.”
