“The Little Witch” fascinates children’s theater gala
TEHRAN -- “The Little Witch” directed by Fariba Daliri has won top awards in three categories at the Celebration of the Association of Theater for Children and Young Adults.
Daliri received the award for best director while her play was also chosen the best play at the celebration, which was held at the Iranian Artists Forum on Sunday evening.
Hadi Hassanali wrote the play based on German writer Otfried Preussler’s work of the same name.
In addition, Arash Sadeqian won the best actor award for his role in “The Little Witch” and Anali Shakuri received the best actress award for her role in “One Apple for Two”.
The award for best costume designer was presented to Roshanak Karimi for her collaboration in “Tresses for Flying”, also directed by Karimi, and the award for best set designer went to Paria Ali-Mohammadi for her work in “Huckleberry Finn” directed by Ehsan Majidi.
Abbed Atashani won the best composer award for “One Apple for Two” and “Ghulaqu”.
The organizer also honored theater expert Manuchehr Akbarlu for his lifetime achievements.
The celebration is annually held by the association, which is affiliated with the Iranian Theater Forum, to honor top theatrical productions staged in Iran over the past year.
