Sculptor Parviz Tanavoli’s students display works
TEHRAN – An exhibition of sculptures by students of the internationally-acclaimed sculptor Parviz Tanavoli, famous for his series “Heech”, opened at Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center on Friday.
Tanavoli, who was attending the opening ceremony, expressed his happiness over seeing works by his students from the Mah-e Mehr Art Institute, the center announced in a press release published on Saturday.
“I saw very good works being displayed today. Considering the thoughts, the concepts and the ideas, I believe this exhibit is of high standards and the artists have made their best efforts,” Tanavoli said.
He said that his students have consulted with him in creating their works, adding that he sees a bright future for the art of sculpture in the country.
Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani also visited the exhibit and said that Tanavoli’s “Heech” has turned into an international image, having brought a great honor for the country.
Yekta Darvish, Leili Taheri, Masih Ahmadi and Maryam Ebtekar are among the students whose works will be on display for ten days.
