Iran offers 10 packages of investment in gas sector

TEHRAN – The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has introduced 10 new packages of investment, including gas storage, transfer, and refining projects, to foreign investors, said Majid Boojarzadeh, the public relations director of NIGC.
The projects were introduced during the 16th International Exhibition of Equipment and Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industries of Russia titled “NEFTEGAS 2016”, which was held from April 18 to 21 in Moscow, the Shana news agency quoted Boojarzadeh as saying on Monday.
“During the Moscow exhibition, 150 international companies showed interest in making joint investments with Iranian counterparts and some negotiations have already taken place in this regard,” the official said.
Development of joint oil and gas fields is a priority of the Iranian government.
On April 2, Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh outlined prioritized plans for the development of oil and gas industry in the new Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.
According to Zanganeh, the high priority is set on clinching new deals for development of shared oil and gas fields as well as enhancing the extraction of oil from existing fields.
