Indian classical flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia to give concert in Tehran
TEHRAN – The Indian classical flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia will be giving a concert in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on April 23.
In a press conference held here at Vahdat Hall, the Indian Ambassador to Tehran, Saurabh Kumar, asked for more cultural relations between Iran and India, and proposed that artists from the two countries have more interactions.
The officials of the two countries believe that bilateral ties must be strengthened, the ambassador said, adding that he is happy one of the Indian music legends will be having a concert in Tehran, the Rudaki Foundation reported in a press release published on Monday.
“This musician is one of the greatest flutists in India whose performance will be a beginning for future programs,” the ambassador said.
Referring to the recent visit of Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to Iran, the ambassador added that useful talks have been made and this concert will be the beginning of bilateral cultural relations.
Director of the Rudaki Foundation Bahram Jamali, also attending the conference, said that the foundation has planned a variety of programs with countries having mutual commonalities with Iran.
Jamali also added that the foundation is willing to dedicate one day a year to India on the calendar of events at Vahdat Hall.
