Dushanbe meeting to commemorate poet Sadi

TEHRAN – A number of Iranian and Tajik literati will gather at the Tajikistan Academy Theater of Lakhuti in Dushanbe on April 20 to commemorate Persian poet Sadi concurrent with Iran’s Sadi National Day.

The participating guests are scheduled to discuss Sadi’s role in the development of Persian literature in Tajikistan, the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Dushanbe said in a press release on Friday.

Sheikh Muslih od-Din Sadi Shirazi (C. 1213-1291) is one of the greatest figures of classical Persian literature, famous worldwide for his Bustan (The Orchard) and Gulistan (The Rose Garden).

In addition, the Iranian cultural attaché’s office plans to honor some literati for their Persian studies published in 2015.
