Beijing Keen to Develop Cooperation With Tehran

TEHRAN Chinese Ambassador to Iran Wang Shi-Jie said in Tehran on Tuesday that Beijing is willing to develop cooperation with Tehran. In a meeting with head of Iran-China Parliamentary Friendship Group Taha Hashemi, Shi-Jie said the Islamic Republic of Iran is a regional power and in addition to its own market with 60 million population, it has succeeded to attract wide-scale international cooperation.
The ambassador referred to Iran-China cooperation in building Tehran subway as a clear example of bilateral cooperation. Hashemi pointing to the sensitive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Middle East and the significant status of China in the international organizations, called for boosting of mutual relations. He expressed pleasure with the common stand of Iran and China towards the theory of unipolar world and the current level of relations between the two countries.
Hashemi called said economic relations between the two countries should keep pace with their diplomatic relations. Hashemi said there exists enormous grounds for bilateral and multi-lateral economic cooperation between Iran and China and the Iranian parliament supports development of relations with China. (IRNA)
