TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has told the British prime minister that the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action should lead to expansion of economic cooperation between Tehran and London.

“Iran welcomes presence of European corporations,” he said during a phone conversation with David Cameron on Tuesday.

He also said Iran will meet its commitments if the other side fulfills its own. He also highlighted the necessity of expanding ties between Iran and Britain in various spheres.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes presence of European corporations [in the Iranian market] and also transfer of technology and cooperation in finance and banking areas,” Rouhani noted.

Elsewhere, Rouhani said that the situation in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen is “unacceptable” and called for more efforts to counter terrorism and stabilize the Middle East region.

For his part, Cameron said that Britain will fulfill its commitments in the JCPOA and urged all to do so.

He also said that Britain is ready to provide Iran with its economic and financial expertise. Cameron also called for expansion of ties with Iran.

He also said the visa section of the British embassy in Tehran will be opened soon.
