TEHRAN - The secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council has warned against latency in meeting terrorist movements, saying the movements are likely to spread out to the Persian Gulf region.

“If unchecked, the Syrian war will spread out to the Persian Gulf,” Mohsen Rezaee wrote on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Khabaronline reported.

Rezaee, who was the IRGC chief from 1981 to 1997, added, “The wave of insecurity that has started from Syria and Iraq and reached Palestine today will go down to take over Lebanon and the Persian Gulf in the coming months if it is not treated.”
