TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani cancelled on Saturday trips to France and Italy following terrorist attacks in Paris.

A chain of terrorist attacks in Paris late on Friday left 127 people dead and some 200 others injured.

“Due to the terrorist incidents in Paris and in coordination with the hosts, the Iranian president postponed his visit to Italy, Vatican and France to a more convenient time,” Reuters quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying.

Rouhani sent a message to President Francois Hollande on Saturday strongly condemning the attacks.

He said the terrorist attacks in which a large number of “innocent” people were killed or injured caused “great sorrow and grief”.

“I strongly condemn this inhuman crime and offer condolences to the grieved people and government of France,” the president said in his message to Hollande.
