TEHRAN - First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said on Tuesday that Iran will enter a new era after the sanctions against the country are are removed in the next Iranian calendar month of Azar [November-December].

During a ceremony held to commemorate the national day of export, Jahangiri described the nuclear agreement and removal of sanctions as the two most important events in the history of Iran.

Iran and the 5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - finalized the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna on July 14.

On July 20, the UN Security Council turned the JCPOA into international law by endorsing a resolution, setting the stage for the lifting of the Security Council sanctions against Iran.

Jahangiri called the nuclear talks as one of the “greatest negotiations at international level” and “one of Iran’s historic achievements”.

On October 13, the Iranian Parliament approved the details of the nuclear deal.

On Sunday, the Iranian foreign minister and the EU foreign policy chief issued a joint statement declaring the start of the implementation of the nuclear agreement which lifts nuclear related sanctions against Iran and instead puts temporary curbs on Iran’s nuclear program.

Political directors from Iran and the 5+1 group also held talks in Vienna on Monday and Tuesday to draw up the plan for implementing the JCPOA.

Jahangiri also said it was proven to the world that Iran can restore stability to the Middle East, an indirect reference to the conclusion of the nuclear deal, which thwarted a possible war between Iran and the United States over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
